I may have the solution to your problem. The GeForce 4 series of cards had a batch of cards go out with bad capacitors and you may be one of the lucky owners of one of those cards. I was! I had a Ti4200 with 64MB of RAM and it started failing only on one map in a UT2004 mod called Frag-Ops. Later it started happening elsewhere and after contacting PNY tech support, they had me send them the card, they fixed it, and sent it back at no charge. Card works fine to this day.

The reason I am saying this is due to the error you reported and the behavior of the system. Not only that, but CS is much less intense on that card than GW. I'd recommend an upgraded video card and you should be fine. Thing is, the highest AGP card I found is the one in my system, the 7800GS 256MB AGP8X card. Either way, this sounds like he old card you have failing.

thnx for the answer mate, i was wondering what video card would u reccomend me buy then if this is gonna resolve the problem

im not farmiliar with all the video cards now cause its been a while since i bought but from what i heard i need to have a certain mother board to buy video cards or else it wont work , and since i havent updated for long i think im running an AGP mother board with 1gb DDR ram so based on that is their still a video card i can buy which can give good performance?

Buy what I have, a 7800GS 256MB card. It's the biggest, baddest AGP card out there, unless they decided to back-port the 8000 series cards to AGP. I love it, and can play all but a few of the newest games wide-open. I even play UT3 with 30~60fps with this thing and almost maxed out detail levels. I force it to use 16x AF on GW and the game is as smooth as silk.

Mine was made by XFX and I believe it is sold on NewEgg, but I bought mine directly back when it was a mainstream card. I also note that the card temperatures rarely exceed 130deg, and are generally around 122deg when being stressed. Should last a long time.
